The First Step is Registering Your Garden
GreenThumb Eligibility
Your school garden must be registered with GreenThumb and meet the following criteria in order to be eligible for GreenThumb benefits:
• school garden is located on property owned by the Department of Education;
• school garden is located on ground level (i.e., not on a rooftop);
• your school garden must complete an annual registration.
Registering with GreenThumb
GreenThumb requires school gardens to renew their registration annually. Whether your school garden is registering for the first time, or has registered directly with GreenThumb in the past, you can now complete your annual GreenThumb registration and renewal by Registering Your School Garden with Grow to Learn NYC. Registration occurs on a rolling basis from September 1st through August 31st.
